Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

What if my state doesn't have a program?

If your state doesn’t have a Youth Challenge program, you can have a relative in another state that does have a program sponsor your child. The guidance on admission varies with each State program, so you would need to contact the POCs listed on that state page to discuss the admission process.

How does my child get enrolled?

Each state has its own admission form and process. You would need to contact the State Program you are interested in and get the information from them.

Can my child enroll if they are 18?

Yes, but your child must not turn 19 before the first day of the in-residential portion of the program.

I have a 15 year old that I want to enroll. Can they be enrolled?

Please contact the program(s) in your state to discuss the admission process with them. In some cases, candidates that are 15 1/2 are accepted for admission.

Do you accept any child ages 16-18?

No. There is an admission process specific to each state. A recruiter or Youth Challenge Staff member will work with you during the screening process to determine eligibility.
